About 6 months ago, I applied a dry-erase sheet to our kitchen wall, right above our light switch so that we'd see it everyday. It was to serve as a reminder of what our goals were, and to
encourage us in showing how far we were in our support raising efforts. Originally, I had a bar drawn with amounts written along it's side. We would colour in the bar to show the amount that we had raised so far. Then the bar was erased and new goals were written instead, with numbers of support meetings we had planned in the coming days. After that was erased, we simply wrote the goal of being 50% funded by June 30 written on it. As Covid-19 butt it's head into our world, we added, "God knows what he's doing!!", since it was clear we wouldn't hit the 50% mark.
I believe the only thing that has remained the same on this little sheet are the words 'Italy Support Raising', along the top.
But you know what? God DOES know what He's doing! Although life seems pretty crazy, unpredictable, and uncertain, we can trust in Him. We can rest knowing that He's got the whole world in His hands! That means that our little plans are a cinch for our Almighty God. He can not only help us achieve our purposes in life, but have it done at the perfect time and in the most perfect way.
I'm quite excited to look back at this time and see how God was working and how He got us to Italy. I'm expecting to see some evidence of God's hand in it all!
If you are finding yourself in a "Where is God in this mess?" kind of a situation, just rest in His presence and know that He loves you and wants what's best for you. Sometimes that will look different than what we think it should look like, or what we think would be best... but we don't know the grand picture the way God Almighty does! So let's do our part and leave space for God to do His; making it a partnership will not only keep your focus clear, but will bring you encouragement in times of doubt.
He's got you!!
