To be honest, I almost forgot our family had a website! We've been so busy with life that I've completely neglected to update this little portion of it... sorry!
I suppose I'll start with the biggest life-update... we've moved! We are no longer city-folk, but are now living in a village about 45 minutes outside of Winnipeg. It was time for a bigger home, and this new community offered that to us.
Living in a historic home, which everyone in town seems to have a story about, has been wonderful! Hosting family and friends has been something we've wanted to do for many years, and we now have the means.
We truly feel this is where God currently wants us to be, and we are settling in well.
Another big milestone has been the change of our home-church. After moving, the plan was to continue attending our Winnipeg church - one that I've attended my entire life - but have felt the pull to find (Kingdom) family within our new community. The church here in town has met our hunger for the Word and for connections, and we've found that being surrounded with like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ has been such a blessing!
Those of you who have been around for a while are likely still wondering when we'll be headed to Italy - our original goal in missions.
We're wondering the same.
Our launch fund (the savings account that needs to be filled in order for us to go) has already been filled, with a little spilling over! However, our monthly support is hardly enough to live off long-term. Many supporters have decided to instead wait until we actually go - we don't blame you. But some of you are still holding on, supporting me (Leanne) in my work with GEM Canada as a writer - thank you!! We're currently in some discussion with leadership in GEM about what our ministry might look like, and the possibility of us going on a short-term trip, which would be especially useful in discerning whether we are still meant to serve long-term in Italy, or if it will look different than we thought.
To be honest, we are currently at peace with my writing for the organization and us serving in this new community of ours.
We hope to have answers for you soon, but we're depending on God's version of 'soon', which often takes a bit longer than we'd like.
Please keep us in prayer as to what our future with GEM might look like!
