Hello friends,
It's a beautiful sunny morning as I write this; it is already mid-May, can you believe it? And as the saying goes, with spring comes change... or something like that... In our last newsletter we had mentioned the idea of using the funds we have raised thus far to go on a shorter trip to Italy, once the borders have opened and the pandemic has reached its end. Although we still very much intend to do that, we are excited to announce that while we wait Canada-side for this to happen, we are now in the process of serving with GEM in ministry! I (Leanne) will be stepping into a role as a writer for Greater Europe Mission. In this role I will be writing blog-type posts to allow others to experience what God is doing here and through Europe. The hope is that in my role as a Canada-based Storyteller (that's the official title), I will encourage readers to step up and join in on how God is moving, and be obedient to God's unique call in their lives. It is an exciting time, where even though we can't physically be in the place we feel called to go, we can still serve in a unique way until that time comes.
Up until now, Franklin and I have been appointees with Greater Europe Mission. That means we haven't been official "employees" of them, but were kind of like interns; all financial support coming in was going straight to our Launch Fund with none being paid into benefits, etc., or even to us directly.
With my accepting of this new position with GEM, I will now officially become an employee. BUT, because we still would very much love to serve physically in Italy one day, I have requested that any financial support that comes to us would continue to be added to our launch fund, aside from that which will now be paid into what employees of GEM receive - benefits, RRSP, etc.
With that being said, if you have already been giving to us on a regular basis and would like to continue to do so, we would so very much appreciate it!
If you have been thinking of giving, but were waiting until we officially started serving within GEM, then now's your chance!
Thanks again to those who have stood alongside us through this long journey! We are thrilled to be able to find new ways to serve the people both here and overseas via technology, and look forward to when life normalizes once again.
