Late Summer 2020

Hello friends, We are now 8 months into this unpredictable year, and although so much has happened, it is not over - and we're glad for that! We had hopes that this would be the year we would land in Italy.   We should have been learning the language, the culture, and getting a better idea as to how our ministry would look in actuality.   We would have gone on many, many support meetings with people like you who would help us get there financially and prayerfully. BUT, that didn't quite happen... at all.   We put a big pause on all meetings and any hopes of getting to Italy in 2020.  But do know this... we are still planning to go!   We are very much still in regular contact with our Italian team members who are either in Italy or in North America waiting for borders to open up so they can re-enter the country, we are still praying over Italy and the people living there, and are still talking to our kids about how different our lives will look once we move. Speaking of our kids learning how different our lives will look... they actually just had the opportunity to meet other missionary kids within GEM a few weeks ago at the annual conference!  They had a blast "playing" and chatting with them over Zoom, just as Franklin and I had with other missionaries within the agency. Typically GEM hosts their annual conference within a country in Europe - this year was supposed to be Slovenia, but because of the pandemic, it became an online event, which ended up being great for those of us who aren't yet on the field!   We were so blessed to be able to join in, meeting other like-minded folks, hearing sermons, praying together, sharing our talents, etc.  It was a great way to connect with others, gain insight and inspire one another.   I think my favourite day of this conference was Monday, which was the Spiritual Retreat day in which we spent the day with God with no distractions.  They offered a loose guide to help, if needed, but we were encouraged to just listen to Him and soak in His presence, which was a beautiful thing!  Franklin took our four kids in the morning, and I took them in the afternoon, so we were both able to have quiet time with God. *sigh*

Anyway,

We wanted to inform you of some new goals Franklin and I have set for ourselves that will see us to the end of 2020.

Because it's such a tricky time in meeting with individuals and churches regarding raising consistent monthly support, we've decided to put a priority on filling our launch fund, which we hope to have filled by the end of this year!  This would mean raising approximately $30,000.

How we plan to do this is to host several online fundraisers - one each month until the year ends.

So keep your eyes peeled on what we're up to!  We'll likely send an email out informing you of what's happening when (you can also check our website which will have an up-to-date listing of fundraisers).

Our first Fundraiser is an Online Norwex Party!

This will take place on Facebook during the first week of September, so if you're on Facebook you can check it out there; if you're not, but are interested, you can send me an email and I can forward you a catalogue to look through.

Ps. This is Canada-wide!  You don't need to live in Winnipeg to order.

Not interested in participating in the Fundraisers, but would still like to donate toward our launch fund? (and receive a charitable tax receipt)

Just click here to donate!

Prayer Requests

As we embark on this new goal of raising enough funds to fill up our launch fund, we ask for prayers that this will be possible, and will be accomplished!   Pray that as we plan and run these fundraisers, that we will meet new people who will be interested in supporting us on a regular basis. Thanks!

Thanks!
