Can you believe that it has officially been two years since we have been appointed with Greater Europe Mission to serve in Italy? It's quite amazing how quickly time flies, and yet we look back and have so many memories of what has happened these past couple years.
I remember during our Candidate Orientation we had whole-heartedly believed we would be in Italy within a year. Imagine our surprise when we learned that that wasn't exactly God's timing!
Since being appointed we've had several lessons on timing as well as reminders that God is always faithful. We've learned that if something doesn't happen right away, it doesn't mean God has forgotten or changed his mind, it just means he knows exactly how and when it should happen, which may look differently than what we think it should be.
In regards to raising financial support, we seem to work in waves. There will be times when we are excited and motivated, making regular appointment dates, and other times when we feel a rest is in order. We've taken breaks from support raising (maybe too many?) during the rough moments of my pregnancy as well as postpartum, and now we're finishing off a break due to the global coronavirus pandemic. We've started to realize, though, that we need to be ready to go once travel restrictions are lifted, and moving to Italy becomes realistic.
Italy has been hit hard, and from what we've heard from team members in the country, people are asking questions; "How can God allow this?", or "Can he really bring peace?". There is uncertainty, and now more than ever, the Italian people need people they can trust, people who can encourage them and speak truth through a difficult and challenging time. Friends who can recognize and rebuke any lies, which can so quickly be believed and accepted by many, will be of great importance.
We want to be these people!!
We want to see the Italian people set free and living in hope and confidence - knowing who God has made them to be! And the best and most effective way for us to do this is to be there in person.
To those who have been supporting us all this time, we thank you!!
To those who haven't, would you consider it? Pray about whether this is something God would like to use you in, and if you feel it is, then visit our Support page to find out how you can help.
To those who might know someone who would be interested in sending us to Italy, please let us know, or send them our website address so they can get to know us.
Thank you, thank you!
We so appreciate you, friends!
