Go to the Nations

I sat there silently, wondering what I should paint next.

It was spring; Franklin and I both had something stirring in our hearts that we couldn't shake.  I knew my next art piece would reveal what had been stirring within me in some way, I just didn't know how or where I should paint it.   Would this painting be specifically for my family, or for the church body as a whole?   Should I paint it at home, or should I paint it here at my church?

Visions of scenery and landmarks from around the globe came to mind, and it became clear to me that this was meant for more than just Franklin and I - it was meant for the church.

I grabbed a blank canvas, walked onto the stage, and set it on one of the four easels that lined the front of the sanctuary.  I took a step back and stared at the white space.  What colour should the sky be?  I always start with the sky - and for some reason I was drawn to gray - so be it.

October 27, 2018 - the painting is complete!

Once complete, I had the opportunity to encourage our church with what we as a body have been called to do - to go to the nations and disciple those around the world, whether in Africa, Asia, Europe, here in Canada or wherever!   We simply need to do go to where the people are, and love them!

Our family will be ministering in Italy, and we can't wait to step into that country!  But for now, we will live out our ministry here until the time comes.
