We'll be honest, this newsletter has been one of the hardest to write - not because of a lack of happenings on our end, but an abundance of change and uncertainty as to what was happening, if that makes sense.
These past few months have been full of surprises, disappointments and everything in between. Life has certainly not been boring in the Monge Barrera household!
Let's start with something fun... we are expecting another baby! Now many of you might be scratching your heads thinking, "Didn't they say they were done having kids?" the answer to that is, yes! We were done having kids! ha ha ha. I guess when you pray for something long enough, and then 'forget' or 'move on' from it, God does not forget about it - and we are so glad for that. We are excited for the growth of our family, and for the blessing that this is.
Next question might be, "How will this affect Italy?"
This is a good question! We are still planning on going, but understand that it might take a bit longer to get there. As you could probably tell from our 23% funded mark, the amount we've raised since our last newsletter hasn't changed much. The reason being is that since finding out about the pregnancy at the end of February, our focus has shifted from a fundraising mindset, to having another baby mindset. We have taken a bit of a break from raising support to enjoy this other new journey we're embarking on. BUT, we are now back in support-raising mode, and are excited to see that 23% raised!
What else have we been busy with? We've been going through our Educational Planning course that GEM requires missionaries with children to take, and are about half-way done! We've also been planning a Vision Trip to Rome for a few weeks in June, but with much prayer and due to circumstances, have unfortunately decided to postpone it for the time being.
